Some you guys follow this way closer than I do – what’s the team health situation for the top teams looking like going into the tour?
I hear a lot about how Jan and Lance and co. all seem to be coming into form and it’ll be a good race but how healthy are their teams? Didn’t I hear soemthing early about Ekimov being out for the season?
Looking forward to a good tour (and hopefully another Lance win.)

Ekimov is out but Lance said that this will be his strongest team ever in the TdF.

All the big names at Discovery, T-Mobile, CSC, Phonak and Gerolsteiner (and maybe a few others) seem to be hitting right on time with their form for July…Individually I don’t think any of them can be counted out…they are all superstrong and if the race were simply those few best…well…it might be a toss-up.
The issue is that Discovery, once again, seems to be doing what they’ve done better than anyone else for 6 years. I don’t see anything but an accident or some other tragedy derailing Lance and Discovery…despite the fact that the other riders, and especially Ullrich seem to be in awesome form.
I’m not so sure. Lance looked a lot chubbier in the face on the Paris Nice pics, and suffering more than usual.

How long ago was Paris-Nice? What does he look like now? How much suffering is he doing now? Who is the master of fine tuning to perfection in the last few weeks before the Tour?

Maybe compared to his gaunt appearance in the last week of the Tour. He is a pound or two overweight right now according to him, perfectly set up for the next three weeks of training.

The team is looking stronger than ever. Aside from Eki being out, and Danielson with his knee injury (not sure if he is even being considered for the tour) I would say Discovery will show up with the strongest team. Lance looks great, and knows what he is doing…I mean, come on, he doesn’t know how to lose the Tour!
