Hey all does anyone have some pics of lance Amstrongs famous glare
Is he the best rider, not in regards to wins with or without drugs
just on ‘the look’
.
Google “Lance Armstrong the look” and click on images. You’ll get a few shots of it. Sorry, don’t know how to post a pic on here…
It’s not best quality but it’s all I could find quickly.
.
only cyclists would think this is awesome.
I wonder if lance was just thinking “Man this hurts I wonder if I dropped him yet…fuuuuugg, not yet, HTFU!”
No way…he was just practicing his stare for either Hincapie or that actor dude for their night on the town together.

Lance is working on a new stare called YELLOW CARBON
but its far from ready
.
Ah, the 2001 TdF up Alpe de Huez
Lance then went on to chase down Roux who was the lead rider up the mountain, then hammered so hard up the rest of the way, they had to extend the time cut off or he would have cut off about 20 riders! I’m not a Lance fanboy at all, but that was a great performance.
Why aren’t they wearing helmets?
Why aren’t they wearing helmets?
back then, on the final climb of a stage they were not required.
On the final climb, they could remove them.
In an interview that i’m sure is on youtube, he mentions to Phil Liggett that he wasn’t staring, just looking back to assess the situation and see where his teammate might be if he made it up the road and blew up. it was the camera angle that made it into “the look” search for “re: the look” on youtube
From “blue steel” to “yellow carbon”…

Don’t let these facts get in the way of ESPN style analysis where all of sports is decided but guts, and courage and never skill and practice =)

With Lance, there are few hard facts. I’ve heard the YouTube “the look” account before. But just the other day I was on the rollers watching that stage and, in the interview immediately afterward, he talked about how he looked back specifically to size up Jan and see what damage was being done.
That’s just like the story about when Lance was crashed by a spectator’s dangling musset. Immediately after the stage, he thanked Jan Ullrich for waiting up and returning a favor from when Lance had waited for Jan after a crash in a stage at a previous tour. Later, after the tour was over, he said Jan DIDN’T wait up. He said Tyler had to “ride up to them and get them to slow down.” (Well … OK. We all saw Tyler gesturing for them to slow down, but if Jan were turning the screws, Tyler wouldn’t likely have been riding up ahead of them while gesturing that they should slow down.) Lance was telling this to Phil and Paul and it was clear they weren’t really buying it.
well one fact for sure is that lance was always a bit more fit than jan, and everyone else.
which is why he would always go up a bit faster than everyone else
whether he looked at them or not =)

Someone needs to introduce Lance to Joe Biden’s dentist.
