I’ll be there. I’m in for the 50k but not ready for it at all. It should be a good, long training day for me. I always head to HPC so maybe I’ll see you there.
I hope it’s not on the 9th though, I’ll be gone by then

But just got a Polar FT 60 yesterday, black with rred screen. A more basic model, but what an awesome overhaul to Polar OS, simple effective, and GPS as an option.

I am registered for the 50K but trying to decide between the 50K in lake Placid or the winterlude tri here in Ottawa. If I could snap my fingers and be in LP and not deal with driving home in a potential snowstorm, I’d be there in a second!
Using the new RS800CX it works well. WIll be there Sat even ing going to rae Super Series Race in Stowe VT on Sat. Would like to meet you.
The Loppet is the premier race in the US. Tough, Unforgiving, Punishing.
Have won the 50km twice and the 25km also in the distant Past.
Robert, Is the supertour race in vermont Sat or Sun? Are you coming up next weekend for the Gatineau Loppet?
Super tour races in vt are sat 10km skate, sun classical. I am only doing the skate race.
Keskinadda is an awesome race although historically freezing cold. Am raciin gin a Nor-Am Biathlon in lake placid FRi ? then Sat, therefore no Keski . Doing the Birke the following Sat.

Good luck at the Birkie…this year birkie is 2 weeks after keski/Gat Loppet…are you making a run for the biathlon Olympic team for Whistler 2010?
I’m bailing on the LP 50K and staying at home to do the winterlude tri just from a “convenience perspective”. I love that race in Lake Placid, but hard to compete with a hometown event. Hopefully next year they will be on different weekends.

Upped training intensity/volume by alot. Combined with work and travel have not realized/actualized full potential yet. Definitely going fo rit although am a long shot.

What do you need to do to make the team ? What are the main selection criteria?
need to qualify to race in Europa cup then finish in top 5 for US. This is my current understanding. It changes though. Will just try to train and do it. Need to improve shooting though.
I’m doing the 25k classic, I was signed up for the 50K but scaled back due to some knee soreness and the impending 50K in Ottawa the next week. Should be nice weather and a fun family vacation.
What are you wasting time for on the tri forum…you racing tris in the summer…if not, you should be shooting…do you have a range in your basement. One of the local guys set up a shooting range in his basement and is training his daughters to take after him (he raced on the National Biathlon team…might know him Ari, Niemi…although might have been just before your time)

By the way, what logistics do you have to Birkie…fly into Chicago and drive up, or fly into Duluth and drive or or or
I was just tryig to figure out the best options for doing it from Ottawa one of these years.

I fly into Minneapolis as I am this year. It is about 21/2 hrs to 3 hr drive Duluth is also an option as it is 1-2 hr drive. It is an awesome event although they are very strict about there seeding for the waves.
