Lake Placid Lodging Ideas for Training Vacation

Me and a buddy are planning a training vacation in LP on June 22-28. We’re bringing our 15 years old sons with us. My wife wants me to get a place near the Mirror Lake beach. She remembers a condo complex along Mirror Lake Drive that was near the special needs drop-off that she thinks would be a good location. Anybody know the name of this complex or have any other suggestions on places to stay?

When I did IMLP, I stayed a couple of miles from Mirror Lake so I didn’t really pay attention to in-town lodging.

Thanks,
Ed

Look up “lake Placid Lodges” for the condos you speak of. Have fun. We’ll be there Jun 19-20 if you decide to show up early.

Thanks, Dev. I’ll check it out. We’re racing a HIM on June 21 so probably won’t show while you’re there, unless we bag our race plans (which is a real possibility as we’re ready for a training get-a-way).

We normally stay at Swiss Acres. There is a 2 bedroom apartment that we get which I think sleeps 8. It is at the top end of town by the grocery store.

x2 Lake Placid Club Lodges, run you about $800 for 3 nights but sleep 6 easily, not cheap but a stone’s throw from Mirror Lake, Main St, tennis courts etc.

Try VRBO for some other pretty good deals…

I’ve stayed at the Prague and the Cobble Mtn Lodge for training weekends. The Prague is on the bike and run course and is within walking distance to town and has larger family size units, but might be full if that is the same week as the horse show. The Cobble Mtn Lodge is at the top of Papa Bear on the bike course and is more affordable than the Prague, and is also more up-to-date where they renovated all of the units two years ago.
