I have a smackdown planned with a few buddies at Lake Louisa State Park (south of Clermont FL). Any Twitchers wanna blow off their job and join us for some fun?
Date: Friday November 18, 4 pm. I know, kind of a weird date. We’ll try to make it more accessible next time…
Format: bike (~10 mi) - run (~2 mi trail) - bike (~10 mi) - run (~1.5 mi road). This is all inside the park, so it’s as safe as it gets.
Fee: $5 to go to the prize purse. Winner take all. Grogan will be there, so the purse has got his name all over it.
Free: beer and babes! OK, just beer. You’re on your own for the babes.

This is the warm up for the Pub Crawl in December.
I am there. I will be riding the zipp 909 disc and the 404 at the “smackdown” unless the winds get above 20 knots. This is one of my “A” races that I have been planning for all season.
Bottomfeeder failed to mention that this is a “mandatory speedo” event. Who knows…maybe the Germans will show. There are a couple in town that may be racing “the Smackdown” under an alias.
Due to a sponsor contract I signed this last spring (2005), I still can not talk about the bike racks outside the fence at the NTC pool for the Clermont hoodlums to salvage. I will say I will bring my own rack (no not that kind of rack Monk) to the “Smackdown” for the race.
Quick reminder that the Smackdown is tomorrow at 4 pm. If you plan to attend please come early so we can start at 4 and finish in daylight. I’ll have to take a few minutes to explain the xc run course and show you the obstacle course before the race. I will be there beforehand to mark the course, so I’ll see you at the parking lot by Lake Louisa.
All I will tell you now is eat your wheaties and pray that you have the strength to do a bunch of pullups! Also, my fair roomie Rebecca is coming to race, and she’s damn fit. So here’s (yet) another opportunity for you to get beat by a girl. First Grogan is going to take your money, then Rebecca is going to stomp on your pride. See ya there.
