Lake Havasu Tri this weekend? PARTY CITY : (

Lake Havasu is listed as one of the top 5 spring break destinations in the world. Wonderful : (…

A gazillion 19 year old screaming kids in all the hotels : (

Glad I’m only there Friday night, race Saturday morning, then head to Laughlin to play some poker for Saturday, Sunday and Monday ; )

I’ll be there too. I am also going up Friday night. I am coming home Saturday afternoon.

Have you guys been there before? Havasu is a strange strange place. My personal favorite part is broomrape lane, which naturally is a dead end.

I did the race last year but that is the only time I have been there.

I am there not racing but %$#@'ing!

Since its early in the season I’ll be doing just the sprint race.

If you see me, please stop and say HI. We are staying right across the street from transition in the Super 8. I’ll be riding a Look 596 in white. I’m a tall old guy : )

I am also going Friday and leaving Saturday. Bring earplugs!

i think it’s motivation to finish the race faster! get done and enjoy the “views”…

see you there!

Racing too. Say “hey” to all the TriCats. We’ll be there in force trying to take over the collegiate division. Luckily my parents live in Havasu so I can avoid the craziness!

I’ll finish as fast as possible, shower at the hotel, check-out and get to Harrahs in Laughlin for the poker tourney at 2:00pm : )

Luckly the sprint race goes off before the Oly. I should be done well before 9am.

I did the race in 2005 when it was the collegiate nationals race, I banged a chick on the trip from another college. Hope this helps.

Agreed. If you can’t beat them, join them.

Don’t subject yourself to triathlon neurosis and have some fun after the race.

Bring ear plugs to sleep the night before the race. Then enjoy the fun after your race. Lake Havasu is great.

Best picture EVER!!!

Now if only the swim was around the flotilla of hot college girls on boats…

How’d everyone do?

I decided to do this on Thursday night and registered an hour before the deadline.
There was a party across the hall from my room on Friday night which didn’t serve as a sleep aid.
First race since the hip fracture, like the 8th time i’ve run this year so i wasn’t impressing anyone there.
Fun way to start the season, would do the race again but would want to stay and party for a few days next time.

garbage run; got stomach cramps again…probs due to the heat and not drinking enough water on the bike. oh well.

Were you walking with your wife after the race across the parking lot where the bikes were coming in?

We were sitting on the curb waiting for friends to come by and admired your bike as you went by

I did it, but I was one of the screaming college students. We did it as our regionals race. There was a big party at the campground… there were kids from every school there.

The bike course was rough! The hills were ridiculous, but overall, it was good. Went 2:21, Collegiate. Guess it’s time to learn to swim… that’s 10 minutes right there.

Yep, that was us!

It was much quieter in town then I thought it would be. I only heard people in the hotel hallway twice all night and then only for a few seconds.

It was a great race. I swam better then I thought I would since I’ve not done any swimming since last season. I hadn’t touched the water since November. The bike course was great. From what I am used to, the hills (bumps) were little : ) The Look 596 with the elastomers in the ePost are totally awesome. I didn’t run as fast as I wanted to but with all that damn deep sand I shouldn’t have run much faster. I had a very good bike split for an old guy since it also included some of the transition.

After the race we drove to Laughlin and I got into the 2pm Poker tourney at Harrahs. Won enough to pay for the entire race weekend!!! We stayed, raced, ate and gambled for FREE!!

And don’t forget about the stairs! I was surprised at my run time considering the sand and stairs.

Overall a great race. I know there have been problems in the past, but aside from forgetting the body markers (we had our own thankfully) I think it was pretty good.

You sure do have a beautiful bike
