Brombach? That’s a bit disappointing as I believe Belinda called him “Mr. Erdinger”!
Had a Non Alcoholic Erdinger shower the weekend before Roth. Can confirm it is incredibly sticky. Stank of beer after. Glad the police didnt pull me over driving home. Would have been hard to explain ![]()
A few more time bests or close.
Bogen’s debut was the fastest ever at 7:27:53 (I am discounting KB’s Cozumel with its current 8 minutes discount) with next best being Keulen at Brazil earlier this year.
Laidlow’s ‘On Land’ time was 6:32 which makes him the 4th fastest, behind Texas 2026’s podium: KB, Stornes and MvR, and ahead of Luis in #4.
At Kona, besides those mentioned (not Bogen) will any other athlete be in the conversation? Lange?, in the hope he can go like his 2024 zenith again, but the 21 months since Kona has shown a negative gradient. Keulen? Koolhaas (NB his 2:30 on Sunday)?
that´s the town outside Munich where the beer is made
Yes. Erding. About 30km east of Munich. Near the airport. Also famous for the waterpark / swimming pool / sauna complex. They have a triathlon in early-June too. I’ve done it 5 or 6 times. Great atmosphere in the town centre.
So… did the refs let laidlow get away with a couple things?
#1 no number on bike leg, no number worn on front portion of body during the run.
#2 forcing his way up solar hill. Think its time roth adds a barrier.
They also didn’t penalize Lucy when she unracked her bike without her helmet on @1:08… I guess discretion favors the favorites
He was wearing his number on the bike leg.
Let’s face it: many athletes, including plenty of pros, wear their number round the back. Review last year’s IMWCs: in top 5 (to 20km) two/three men and all the women.
On the constriction up the hill: noone fell off = no penalty. Poor judgement by Laidlow. Needs a explicit ‘overtaking verboten’ and briefed as such at Pro Brief.
