Interesting goings on at League of American Bicyclists, where the board recently amended bylaws to inhibit member-initiated referendum rights:
just as Dan is warning may happen at USAT. Beyond just that parallel procedural issue, LAB is/was an important organization to triathletes (as high speed road using cyclists for whom sidepaths are often not a good alternative) and the changes that appear to be taking place aren’t necessarily good for us. If you’re a member, might be worth a bit of attention. The organization is still doing good things (standing up to Clear Channel for example), but the anti-membership stance is disturbing.
