La tri series (bonelli)....roll call

Don
Thanks for the info on the bike course. You should be easy to spot with that hot bike. Hope to meet you tomorrow.

I’m in. Fortunately someone clued me in that this was a Saturday race - not a Sunday one! My friend missed the last one because he thought it was on Sunday and went to his Saturday swim practice instead. I’ve done these a lot of times and make sure I look at the course map every time - they seem to change quite a bit!

Anyway, I’ll be there on my black B2 - I’d love to finally meet some people - I’ll be wearing the red and white TYR gear and probably hanging out with my parents after the race.

I tried getting HalfSpeed out there but I don’t think he’s going to make it…bummer.

Good luck everyone and see you tomorrow!

We will miss you on your new ride!

Hi Bob, I sent Steve a PM so we’ll see if he makes it. It’ll be good to get back to doing tris again. Brian and I are literally getting our feet wet for the first time this year in a race. Should be fun.
See you in the morning,
Neil

Dick,

I’m there at Bonelli tomorrow as well to sharpen up a bit before Nationals. I have a predection on the overall winner tomorrow as well: Justin Park.

See you there, Ian

What is your AG? I’ll assume you will take it. Hope to meet you tomorrow. Good luck.

Thanks Bob, you are right it is at the bottom of the hill at the east entrance, the first downhill after going by the fairgrounds and the golf course. It did have orange cones, in my opinion the second area may be more of a hazard as it is in the section of small rollers where I am usually just pounding away and not paying much attention to the road. The rocks there were not contained to the hole, they had been kicked out all over the place.

On a positive note the big downhill that parallels the freeway has been repaved in the small area near the light that had those small deep holes so that hill is in good shape.

Halfspeed is running at about Quarterspeed right now. Apparently, IMAZ killed his knee and then stupidity set in as he rode Breathless Agony 3 weeks later. He did Playa Del Run at Bolsa Chica last weekend. While he got first, he could only muster a 23 minute 5k. Hell of a good swim, though - 10:35 for 1000 yards.

Good luck to all of you.

Ahh thanks man!! It’s nice to be missed… hold me… AHHAHAHAH!!! Have a great race!

I was planning on being there, but as the boss, I had to pick up the slack at work tomorrow. Wish I could be there to see you and the other slowtwitchers. It would be a great reunion. the weather should be perfect.

PS. My swim is slowly gettting better and better. It had better since I won’t be able to use a wetsuit next time.
Yikes.

He’s just a babe in arms. What 38? Maybe 40.
I think the best path on that first descent is to stay near the middle line, so you miss all the untility hole covers at the bottom.
Get started, build a little speed, then stick your rear over the back of the saddle, put your chest on the top tube, hands on the bullhorns and head low, you’ll be more stable and just a fast as the guys who pedal all the way down. (or faster) Plus you’ll save a lot of energy for the next climb up past the south entrance

LB - 35-39 the only thing I’ll be “taking” is my time. I’m there to enjoy primarily and then to run well (for me) off the bike -that’s the boost for Nats I’d like to have.

See you there, Ian
