Kuota or P3K for climbing

Hmm. Tough decision. At this point, really an impossible one to make since there is no real revew/feedback/practical expereince with the P3C. One overhwelming advantage some people may see with a Kuota is you can have one now. For customers for whom expedinet deliver is more important than long term performance, the Kuota is clearly the better choice.

My experience with the Kuota is that the ride quality and climbing characteristics are very, very good. It climbs with a relentless stiffness few other bikes- if any- match but has a delightlfully absorptive ride.

Now, here’s the rub, will you regret buying a bike that is available now when the P3C comes out?

I think there is a substantial chance of that- and so do the other carbon time trial bike builders/distributors. There is a full-court press on right now for everyone else making carbon triathlon/time trial bikes to get those bikes *sold and gone *before the P3C comes out. I think they realize that every other carbon TT bike is what people are doing before the P3C becomes available, and that once the P3C hits in any numbes it will be immensely difficult to sell “competeing” product.

No one knows if the P3C is any good yet. However, based on some of the dilligence I have seen Cervelo put into this project and others, they didn’t just go to a third party manufacturer with a drawing and say, “Make this as cheap and fast as possible and send us 600 fast…”. Some real effort has gone into this bike- some real thought. Remember, Cervelo got their start conceiving carbon fiber, aerodynamic bicycles and HPV’s years ago- before any of these other guys had even considered it.

We’re cooling our jets on loading up with carbon tri bikes right now in anticipation of the P3C. I am genuinely concerned that if I floor a half dozen carbon bikes from the other guys- bikes that we already know are pretty good- that the P3C may be such a more desireable bike to consumers that those bikes will become antiques the instance the first P3C arrives.

So, I am holding out to see how the P3C is.
