Was wondering if anyone has any experience/feedback on the Kuat NV hitch bike rack? Looks really nice but does it work well?
Thanks
I’ve had it since it came out and it’s the best hitch rack out there. I had a Saris previously.
I’ve got one and it is nice. I did have a problem with one of the arms letting go this last Saturday. It is probably 2 years old. I don’t use the bike repair rack so I find that feature to be over rated.
I’ve had one for a couple of years now. Had a problem with one of the arms but Kuat sent one out ASAP. I use the bike stand often at MTB and Xterra races and it sure beats bringing a stand especially at 24-hour races. Holds 29ers with ease. The integrated lock works well but needs some protecting if you leave the rack on in the winter.
I just went to their website and it turns out I have a rack that was affected by a voluntary recall involving the ratcheting arm. I also noticed that they redesigned the rack since I got it.
I have the newer post-recall version and it’s great. I have spent a lot of time with the Thule T2 which I consider the other contender in the hitch rack market. The NV is a great rack, the bike stand is a lot more useful than you would think, the integrated bike lock is awesome and the adjustment to loosen slack in the hitch is great as well. I would highly recommend it and I have actually had people follow me places just to ask about it. My wife almost maced an old man the other day who scared her when he followed her to ask about it.
