KT tape: Does it really help?

I tried some tape after my wife’s kinesiotherapist out it on her and she felt a difference. I was skeptical, but am now convinced. , at least for me and for muscle issues. I prefer to avoid NSAIDs whenever possible. The tape got me through an Achilles strain last year while training for my first IM. This year I’m plagued by hamstring tightness and have some stuck to my butt right now.

I’ve see some of the studies, but mostly go by my anecdotal response. It is not great data , but the risk of taping is nil, so why not try.

I’m a self taper. I’d see the PT for taping if I had time.

Oh I use it. Actually, a month before IMC did Stevens 70.3 the ragnar within 7 days. Dumb, I know…but had bad calf issues. ART and massage did little, but taping…damn tape, seriously, got me thru IMC with 33 min PR. So yes, a believer, more looking at whether to just use and accept or use in order to not use. I hate NSAIDS too…

Self taper as well…can’t really screw it up too bad. Try to pay attention while I do it tho.
