Talked about the above accident with a group I was training with the otherday. It is a terrible tragedy.

We were focused on riding safely and avoiding riding in the dangerous areas of the road.

Take care out there,

G.

sad day indeed.

Odd that it is is year since Matt and Kristy were struck by the car. Time goes so fast.

Thank you for that link. Katy and I were at dinner with Matt’s sister last night. I’m heading out shortly to a race where we will do a silent lap for them. Tomorrow will be a hard day for many of us.

Thanks for riding the silent lap!

A sad anniversary but an appropriate time to remember as the snow melts and people begin to get back on the roads. Let’s take this tragedy and turn it into something that will keep these people alive in our hearts and minds and help each of us to be safer on the roads in their honor and memory.

It ended up being not so silent. My and Katy’s team and Kristy’s old team were leading it out and everyone was chatting and laughing and telling “Remember when…” Kristy and Matt stories. It was a 1.4 mile long lap, so it was nice. Though both of them would have said, “Pick it up!”

Just wanted to say even though the heading was a bit one sided, I understand it involved the loss of two great people/triathletes lives.

The article was a bit more focused on Kristy.

Take care out there.
