Kristian Blummenfelt storms to win, course record for second straight year at IRONMAN European Championship

That might have been the best “inside baseball” content I’ve ever heard with penalties and drama we don’t often get to see the inside scoop of what “really happened”. Apologizes for spelling coach’s name wrong- Kasper Pederson. A lot of emotions happening in that ~75 mins for him and his athlete. Kudos for him to basically accepting responsiblity to do better with communicating with the officials (even if it’s chaotic). Gives details beyond the telecast, really good content they put out, especially considered the frustrating/disappointment Ditlev’s camp like was in from the result.

Can quite believe - and accords with the video.
We see (maybe) “Ditlev’s coach [in white T] ran beside for a few seconds” at Race clock 04:46:31, for 3 seconds - he takes 7 paces btw (maybe this was the ‘about 5m’) - perfectly fine shouted support. TO rode on.
“not much later KH’s coach ran alongside him for a longer time” the guy that earned the penalty was 2 minutes later, in grey T with sac running alongside for ~10 seconds (identity ? but the penalty followed less than a minute later). I assume the TO spoke to the grey runner first (because we saw the TO drop off from immediately behind Hh) and then rode forward to alongside Hh to give him the good news.
If only there was video evidence! Oh, there is!

All done in 90 seconds (plus the minute stationary). If I was Hoegenhaug’s coach I would be mega-excited too. But I’ve been called out for shouting splits while not stationary so am super careful on that. One ref (in the US) even penalised an athlete for a supporter shouting splits from the roadside "because it was outside assistance’. The Head Ref apologised afterwards (60 sec in PT did not affect athlete’s position.
I appreciate the youtube geo-blocking must be frustrating: but all those can view: do offer an alternative narrative, if I’ve erred.
