Who here has ever done the Krispy Kreme Challenge?
Run 2.5 miles.
Down one dozen glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Run back 2.5 miles.
Multisport at its finest!
NC State University campus bell tower. I did it 2 years ago, and could not complete the challenge. 8-9 doughnuts was all I could get down. I’m registered up for 2012, and victory will be mine!
Lemme see, that’s run about 4Km, eat a metric dozen donuts (whatever that is), they had better be warm, then run, jog, walk, stagger, burp and fart your way back for 4 Km without puking.
Does the winner get a dozen donuts? To eat right then in celebration or just a liter of beer (or both?).
I used to be a police officer in Raleigh and that was one of the best days of the year. I found a spot to park my car about a mile from the finish and just watched people in bizarre costumes throw up. A couple friends of mine did it and they just squished 4-5 donuts together then dipped them in water. Apparently this is the strategy the winners use.
I’m in. With a stroller. I’ll give the extra doughnuts to my 8 month old. Is there anything wrong with that? I think he can take 6 down easily. Kinda like a relay.
i would just run there, eat a few doughnuts and laugh at people. do they have coffee too?
i love KK glazed doughnuts. i only get one about 4-5 times a year but i do enjoy them.
The Crim (10 miler, Flint, Michigan) runs through downtown Flint, home to the fine fraternaties and sororities of U of M Flint. The frats have a really good smelling KK stop along the way… Maybe 6 or years ago I took down 4 right there, then took 3 with me. Couldn’t get donut 6 or 7 down until I reached the BEER STOP, after which everything became cool again.
They were good, and it wasn’t an issue running with 'em in the gut, the issue was mostly dry mouth and trying to breathe through a 78% processed donut.
I had a much bigger issue with the Atomic Fireball the Devil gave me at the Run Thru Hell. Now THERE’S a bad idea.
Have done a swim workout where you had to slam a krispey kreme between hard 100’s. And have been witness to the spam slam…a TT up A mountain (Tucson) with 3 “aid stations” that you had to stop at and slam down a half inch thick slab of spam.
