1st - 2005: 12:05

KQ : 9:36

First triathlon ever was an IM. Never swam in my life until 10 months prior, didn’t get a bike until 4 months before the race. Went 10:50 at Wisco in my first IM.

i think a better question would be:

what was your time and location that qualified you for the 2011 kona IM?

how many attempts did it take?

1st IM in 2009 - 11:43 @ IMWI
2nd IM in 2011 - 10:05 @ IMCDA ← KQ, but didn’t take it.

M18-24 AG, just turned 20 for the IMWI and was 21 for IMCDA

KQ, but didn’t take it.

I took a pass 6 times! Never got a thanks from any of those guys that bagged my rolled-down spot! :wink:

FIrst IM was the defunct Pineman in Ohio - I think my time was 12:40ish (first year of tris)
FIrst KQ was 9:50 IMAZ in 2008 - had to pass for family reasons
Took me 5 more tries, 2xIMAZ, including a 9:38miss, and 2xBuffalo Springs 4:30misses
IM St. George this year 9:58 good enough for 6th in 35-39 - I did not pass this time!

First Tri was 2009 - Have 6 half’s and now 2 Fulls as follows…

1st IM - 2011 IM France 10:33
2nd IM KQ - 2011 IM Louisville 9:31

(I also went sub 9:30 in 2010 but that was too slow for KQ)

  1. 1st IM was 9:52 Kona '08. (qualified at 70.3s first three times)
  2. 1st qualifying time was 4:20 @ 2008 Oceanside. First qualifying time at an IM was 9:23 this year at IMCDA, which was my first IM outside of Kona.

2nd was florida in 9:24 (qualified)
