Kona Dreaming?

What Does it take for someone to get Kona ? For example how much training.

No worries. Just go marry Susan Dell.

There are a tonne of variables in that question…too many actually, such as your talent (genes), money, luck, where your fitness level is now etc. Some guys are able to train 8-12 hours / week and get to Kona while others train 20-30 hours.
Really hard to give a rough estimate, but I will let you know when I eventually get there.

Depends on what age group you are in. At my pace I might make it when I’m 70…

Loaded question.

Depends on your age group, current fitness, potential (how do you quantify this?), desire, time frame and qualifying race… to name a few.

I would think you can count on it being a farily difficult thing to do, which would require significant dedication to training yourself to your maximum potential.

At Moo last year, in my age group (M35-39), a 10:30 would have gotten you the last Kona slot for that AG.
