I am not, by any means, a good photographer so I apologize in advance. Sorry it took so long to post, I don’t want to bore you with the excuses.
As I was standing there, shooting photos, I noticed Macca was having a hell of a time getting his shoes in. There were no volunteers around so I handed the camera to my wife and offered to hold his bike. He couldn’t have been more gracious. My wife took a picture…of my back which was completely blocking out Macca.
It definitely stood out among all the matte black and carbon. You can’t see it in the photo, but there was a large group checking it out, everyone wanted to catch a glimpse.
I was right next to Macca in that one picture. I helped pump up his tires. He is a real cool guy. Maybe I should of been worrying bout my own race at that point…haha…but its pretty easy to get caught up in the hype of Kona. I thought T. DeBoom’s Trek was pretty cool too. Anyone have a picture of that?
Great pictures! I will still NEVER understand why the Flame paint jobs run vertically along the lines of the forks and seat stays. It’s not nearly as cool as running horizontally as if the wind is blowing them rearward. Such a shame it is done incorrectly (in my opinion) almost all the time.
I can’t believe nobody noticed Widoff’s handlebars. HELLO!!! Probably Bontrager integrated carbon, Visiontech brake levers, S-bends!!! I figured you’d be all over that! What is wrong with you people??? ;);)

I noticed the same thing. I think this bike puts the Giant to shame.
On Lori’s bike: what the hell use is a rear wheel cut out if the rear wheel sits like 3 meters behind the cut out. That just makes me think 2 things: 1) Specialized people don’t know what the hell they are doing, 2) dead weight . Check out her drop between saddle and aerobars, ouch!
DeBoom bike: A road bike instead of a TT bike…I think that is why he rode so slow
