Hi
Anyone stayed at the Sea Village resort?
Thoughts, comments?
Suggestions to stay close but not to close to start line for 2 adults and 3 kids aged 7,9 and 11.
Need 2 bedroom at least
Jonboy
Hello Jonboy, I have a timeshare booked at the Kona Coast Resort that I cannot use that would be perfect for you. Great location, and my kids are the same age and love it. There are 2 pools, hot tubes, weight room, schuffle board, tennis courts, volley ball, blow holes at night to discover. It is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, booked from Oct. 5-12. You can add time on either side if you want. Cost is $1300 for the week. I just want to recover the maintenance fee.
The Sea Village is good, but some condos are better than others. Some have direct views of the ocean, including the swim course. Others have views of the pool and BBQ area and can be noisy. So take a close look before you book.
FYI Irondave’s offer looks very good.
Don’t forget to checkout vrbo.com as well. There are a few places rather nearby (Malulani Gardens being about the limit for calling something close) that might fit your bill. Some of those places are real working neighborhoods and not vacation/party places which might be more what you’re after.
That’s where I stayed last year and will again this year. As the person above said the views will vary. Most of the ocean views get booked way ahead of time. Condo I stayed in last year was already booked when I tried in February, but managed to get another. Was right across from the swim turnaround.
Didn’t check out the pool, but it looked nice from the pictures. There are a few condo complexes in that area you may want to check out too, but Irondave seems to have a great offer. Used a car for most of the days, but on race day I walked and it wasn’t too bad.

My wife and I always rent at Kona Coast and like it very much. It is about 5 miles from the start, which you might or might not mind. The bay just down the street is about the best place to take kids to snorkel.
Check out the Kona Maki. It’s where we stayed last year and it’s next door to the Sea Village (which looked nice btw). The Maki has units that are perfect for a family like yours. We’re also 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 13 and 18 at the time). The unit we had was technically a one bedroom with a loft. The bedroom had a king bed, the loft had two twin beds and then the couch pulled out. Worked perfectly for us for 10 nights.
Hi Irondave
Thanks so much for your offer but I have decided to stick with Sea Village as I already had a tentative booking there.
Once again many thanks
Jonboy
Still available, so it can be yours. Great place to stay.
