My first run in some very tight tights produced pain almost immediately. After removing the tights, I struggled to make it half a mile before giving up from the pain. I now have a lingering knee pain that has lasted 2 weeks. Is it possible that the tights caused my knee to track incorrectly and resulted in runners knee? I have discontinued the use of the super tight tights.
I never heard of such a thing. I’ve found the opposite, generally.
How tight are these tights? They should compress, but shouldn’t restrict articulation of your knee. I found some tights are a little short and you have to pill them up well past the ankles to fit correctly… sort of like some wetsuits. Then use long socks.
They are one size too small. They definitely restrict knee movement. I will try pulling them up.
If they restrict movement, then I wouldn’t wear them… even if they weren’t also suspect for injury.
No official diagnosis here, but I have had similar issues with running tights in the past where I have immediately developed knee pain in the outside of my knee. The pain did linger for a few days but eventually went away. Now I just try to avoid wearing tights whenever possible.
The fashion gods are punishing you.
No one even said anything about running and then finishing the run without any pants at all.

I try not to be too judgemental. It’s not the Slowtwitch way.
