Knee injury question

hello,

I’m looking for some advice about a nagging knee injury–basically I have a kneecap that gets sore after running; knee bends particularly aggravate the condition; ; no medial or lateral pain; I use asics kayanos, pronate moderately and have fairly stable arches when unweighted; quads and calfs tend to be inflexible; cycling doesn’t affect the pain;knee crunches a bit in the a.m., and makes an odd noise when first hamstring stretches are done (does not make noise after the first one); other knee is fine;

what experience with similar do others have? what helps?

Does it hurt to walk down stairs after a long or hard run? You might have a muscle spasm (cramp) in your quad somewhere, or just some tightness/inflexibility. Do a search of the forums on “foam roller”, or a google search on “trigger point” or check out tpmassageball.com – specifically the quad roller.

Then again, you might just be getting old. :slight_smile:
