KMC Chains

Thank you for all the responses. Very interesting. I never for a moment doubted (until now) that cleaning the chain completely is the right thing to do. I thought that not only would the chain wear out quicker if there is any dirt on it, but also the sprocket and other drive train components. I also was under the impression that that was why so many guys on this forum like the Wipperman Connex quick release. The factory lube on the KMC is like glue, so removing it was obvious to me at the time. I did re-lube right away with my normal lube (Pro Gold). Will I take the chain off from time to time and drop it in citrus decreaser? I guess I will read more responses and expert opinions, but like a previous poster said, having to replace a chain is not a major investment fortunately.
