Kingston Tri Community

Hey
I will be moving down to Kingston for work in July. I’ll be coming from Ottawa. Anyone have any contacts for Tri clubs or groups in the area? I hear the cycling is pretty good in the area. Any one have any good routes or wanna hook up for some rides? Look forward to meeting some of you.

No affiliation since I am in Cornwall but they seem to offer a healthy offering for all.

I’m from Kingston and went to university there, but not living there as of last year.
Tons of great riding!
Not sure what kind of distances you’re looking for, but everything east of downtown is great.
Middle Rd, Joyceville Rd, Hwy 2 and 1000 Islands Pkwy are fantastic. Hwy 15 is just OK if you go at the right time of day, but can get pretty crappy/dangerous with traffic.
Running in kingston is great! There are a ton of nice routes and waterfront parks. Fort Henry is also great for hill workouts.
There is an indoor track at the RMC gym(KMCSC) and no shortage of running groups. Steve boyd runs a pretty awesome group there.
There are a few pools, but nothing really great. The RMC pool is nice(25m), but the lane swim hours aren’t all that great. Not sure if Queens has any better hours. The lake is open 24/7, but can get rough at times

As for tri clubs, Queens has one as does RMC. There is also a group from the local shop, gears and grinds. Someone is always doing something.
Here are some good people to contact.

Hope this helps, Enjoy K-Town!

Hi, Dont know much about Kingston, but I do know that I live only 20 minute drive over the border into New York, so let me know if you want to do any meeting up in the Thousand Islands as it is only 18-25 miles of a ride for me to get up there!
