This is interesting. I just stumbled upon it, but it looks like a lobby page to get the same penalties for fallen cyclists as for highway workers in many states. http://www.killacyclist.com/

Thanks for the post. I think its long over due. What do you want to bet that it never makes it law? Primary reason, if make this the law, then they will have to make killing a pedestrian the same, etc., etc. Pretty soon, no matter who you kill with a car, you will be going to prison and there just isn’t enough prison space for all these individuals.

I hope I’m wrong, but let’s just see.

Thanks Khai! I’ve been looking for something like this.

In addition, I wish that there was a mandatory citation for hitting a cyclist with a car even if there isn’t a casualty (Unless it is absolutely obviously the cyclists fault). I’ve been meaning to look into lobbying for a 3 foot rule in Ohio. It seems these things never happen until someone dies. I think we have enough cyclists in Ohio to get a pretty solid movement going…
