Kienle's aero bottle

Did not see anything posted on the forum so forgive me if it has been discussed. Very interested in the profile design aerobottle attached to the front of the head tube. I noticed it on the live coverage but could not figure out what it was until the article that Herbert put on the main page. Looks very aero!! Anyone know anything about it and if it will be offered to the public soon??

Believe it’s specific to the Plasma.

The Scott was set up next to - but not part of - the PD booth at the expo. The rep clarified that this item would not be sold as an aftermarket item.

Then again, he wasn’t aware that the bento box on the Scott was a PD item until I pointed out their logo.

Maybe we need some homogation rules in triathlon? A aero device that not available to the general public… that shouldn’t be legal!

Well in the case…there goes the 3T Arduro bars on the P5!

What are you talking about, not only is it available to the general public, you also get a sweet Scott Plasma 5 as an accessory too

Yeah, it was made specifically for the plasma.

Hi all, we worked with both SCOTT and Simon Smart on the design and integration of this hydration system and storage solution. These are specific to the Plasma 5 so wont be available after market.

The bottle slides onto a bracket that is mounted to the bottom of the stem. It utilizes the anti splash system that is used on our new FC System. You’ll also notice there is a very tight tolerance between the tire and bottle. This distance is the same for all bike sizes. The storage unit bolts to the frame and includes seperate compartments inside.

Hi JD,

Kienle’s had the straw bent so it would stay horizontal out of the wind. Is this a feature of the Scott specific bottle or it’s also available on the new FC system?

Thanks.

The FC system does include a clip to keep the straw down. Here is a photo of a complete system prototype we had at Interbike. - Also from Tririg

Hello,

I’m trying to find a solution for the straw too. did you find any?

I need it to be horizontal like the picture. how can I do that?

Thanks

Try a spoke or similar steel wire inserted into the straw. Cut and bend it to get the orientation and flexibility you need.

Can you send me a picture or something that will demonstrate what you mean? Because i’m not sure I understood how to do that.

Thanks
