Is this custom made?

That’s an awesome photo! The bike’s rather cute bike but it looks like it has 20" wheels. I’ve never seen such a bike. I can tell you that even if you find one kids grow out of 20" wheel bikes pretty quickly.

I’m looking for a bike for my 10 year old daughter and am not finding that many options. Does anyone know a good place to source kids’s road bikes generally? I have not been too impressed with what I’ve found so far.

Here is a photo of my daughter waiting for her swim at the Meek & Mighty at St. Anthony’s:

I bought my daughter’s 48cm road bike from a local triathlete (my training partner). It was raced by all three of his children and has won 6 national championships. My daughter doesn’t have her sights that high, but she loves the bike. $250 is what I paid after selling the extra set of deep Hed wheels (on here).

Ask around at races and within your club.

You can find these online. Example (if you want to drop a grand on a bike that they will quickly outgrow): http://www.backcountry.com/store/PIN0024/Pinarello-Kui-Road-Bike-Kids.html?CMP_ID=SH_BEC001&CMP_SKU=PIN0024&mv_pc=r199

My daughter has a Louis Garneau road bike that has fit her since she was about 4’7". It has 650 wheels and Sora components. I got it on a clearance at a bike show for $400 3 years ago.

I think that Argon 18 had some little bikes on their website that I have seen at KOS races.

Here’s an option for kids…I’ve seen a couple of them at the kids triathlon I help with. 24-inch wheels.

Thanks for the suggestions. The Felt seems like a pretty good deal in particular and while you would hope that a kid’s bike wouldn’t outweigh an adult bike it isn’t too bad.

his seat is too low.

Hi Racerx, here are two more options for you: our Xenon 24 and Xenon 650.
The 24 (in blue) has an alloy crankset with 152mm cranks and 42/34 chainrings and the 650 (in red) has a 165mm cranks and 50/34 chainrings. Both have verry narrow handlebars (36cm I think).

Pro-lite has a nice looking one that might work. I buy and sell closeout bikes and could get these to you for about $450 to $500 depending on shipping to you and from them. Here is a link:

Fuji makes a bike that is not too expensive for young ones. This is what my 7 year old rides:

I got it from Performance on sale for like $260.00. 24" wheels, not a terrific bike, but good enough since I will be needing to buy him another one in a year or so.

It is called the ACE and you can see the specs and a picture here: http://www.fujibikes.com/Kids/Road.aspx

They also make a 650 and a 20" flatbar.
