Just a quick warning. I was using my Kickr today and it started to make a weird cyclical clicking noise that was obviously an issue.
A quick inspection showed 1 of the small screws holding the plastic covers onto the large belt pulley attached to the cassette had come out about 90%, caught on the machine as it span and bent horribly. After some faff I managed to get it bent approximately right again and replaced it and checked the other 5 screws holding on the cover - ALL were loose to varying degrees and a couple had already started to work themselves out and were about to foul the mechanism.
I dont think this would be in any way dangerous but as the screws come out they catch on the frame and there is a risk of damage being caused. Might be worth a quick check as they just need a small allen key (2.5mm IIRC) to tighten them back up.
Thanks for the warning. I have been noticing a little clicking noise lately and figured it was my rear derailleur, can’t wait to go check and see if it is the loose screws.
FWIW I’ve got about ~100 hrs of riding on mine (80+ rides) in the last four months and I check the screws this morning and they are nice and tight (on both sides). Is it possible something about your setup is introducing excessive vibration into the unit? Could also be a random manufacturing or assembly defect of course but just thinking out loud as a former motorcycle guy where vibration is the persistent devil.

good point and I’ll have a look. It just sits on non-slip rubber flooring in the garage and doesnt move so not sure what might cause it. Hopefully a simple missed QC check.
