Kick more or less with wetsuit?

kick less because my legs don’t drop as much?

or kick more to take advantage of being higher in the water

Less.

or not at all, save it for the bike/run. Won’t need those arms again

You are supposed to kick? Maybe that’s why I’m so slow!

Just kidding. I don’t think I kick much at all in a wetsuit…I do try and point my toes though, so they won’t be like flaps on an airplane to slow me down. Without a wetsuit, I’m not sure what my feet do, but I do actively kick some then. Ask WebSwim or one of the real swimmmers here, they’ll give you some good advice.

I will say that I swam in a wetsuit for the first time this season today as a warm-up…man, was I faster. The thing that’s amazing is, after I swam 1000 yards, I took the wetsuit off, and I was STILL faster than usual…by 10-15 seconds per hundred! Just feeling the correct body position a wetsuit puts me in made me swim better without it on! 10-15 seconds per hundred is HUGE…I was swimming 100’s at 6-7 seconds better than my previous 100 PR’s!
