Kestrel Flexing issues

I have an '05 Kestrel Airfoil Pro. It is by far the most comfortable bike I’ve had, but it really flexes -bigtime- under load. I do realize this is no sprinters bike, but even shifting cause slight flex, not to mention climbing steep grades. My question is this: As much time and money that is spent on gaining precious seconds, do you think precious seconds are lost due to frame flex of this sort? Or, am I just old school where stiff meant power going to the rear wheel?

Shifting makes it flex?!

What makes you say it’s flexing and how?

My riding buddies are noting some flexing during shifting and the bottome bracket flex is quite obvious to anyone riding this bike. I’ve oftentimes thought my rear wheel was out of true, but it was just the frame/btm brkt swaying back and forth during pedaling.
