Kestrel AirFoil 47 bike stolen - Arlington/Alexandria VA

My Kestrel AirFoil Pro was stolen from inside my car a couple of weeks ago in either Arlington or Alexandria Virginia. It’s a 47 carbon weeve frame, with 650 Spinergy wheels, DuraAce components, vitesse saddle, ++ other addons. If anyone sees a 47 frame for a cheap price, it could be mine! I would think there’s a small market (no pun intended) for the bike as-is so it might have been disassembled for parts.

The rear skewer on the spinergy wheel was from my Cyclops trainer :). There was a Vetta wireless bike computer and Polar HRM attached. The HRM was 4 years old.

The idiots took my lousy bike pump and riding gloves but left the front Zipp 303 wheel from my road bike and some other expensive gear, so it could have been worse.

Please post a reply if you see something suspicious.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled, it should be an easy bike to ID.

Preston at Kestrel Bikes here. Sorry to hear your Airfoil Pro was stolen. That sucks big time.

Do you have the serial number for it? If so, you might want to post it here just in case someone happens upon it. Also we have on occasion had people contact us about a “warranty” or “for sale” frame/bike that turned out to be stolen. We can flag your frame s/n as being stolen in our system.

If you don’t have the s/n, the shop that sold the bike to you might. If not, we may be able to search our records for that shop and narrow it down.

I hope this helps.
Best,
Preston Sandusky

Preston,

I got a bunch of documentation from my bike store, but not the serial number. I emailed Kestrel help with more details to find my serial number, and mentioned your name. Any help would be appreciated. I think this is a relatively rare bike/frame, so it’s worth pursuing. Thanks for your help.

Susan

you might want to check your lbs or wherever you bought it from, they might have a record of the purchase.

That sucks. I’m in that area. If I see someone riding one I’ll be sure to tackle them and ask them where they got the bike. If it sounds fishy, I’ll confiscate it and send you a PM.

Seriously, though, I hope your homeowers/renters covers that. I would just cry if I lost my bike.

Did they get it out of your trunk? Did they know it was in there?

Hi Susan,
Michael here in customer service is looking for your full e-address so he can reply to you. I guess in the message we received from you the whole e-address was not included (?) for some reason.
Anyway, if you can e-mail me your e-mail address and other contact info, we can get Mike in touch with you.
Thanks,
Preston
