Kerry Falls on his bike...trips on his own words

Just saw this on www.drudgereport.com … from what I see he is wearing cycling shorts for the real roadies and a cotton t-shirt to show he is a man of the people…riding a $5,000 Serrotta that his wife’s money bought him.

Wow - that’s just about the lamest anti-Kerry post I have seen yet.

Why did you bother? It’s not like it’s hard to find real issues to disagree with the guy about - he’s been around long enough to have pissed everybody off at one time or another.

I just don’t get it, and it makes me sad; this kind of nonsense passes for legitimate political discourse these days.

Is it something in the water? Is flouride rotting people’s brains?

Truely, I’m saddened by this shit - and I see it coming from both sides of the political spectrum, with increasing frequency.

Yuck.

Yuck.

A presidential candidate participating in a sport that we value. That seems pretty cool to me regardless of the kind of shirt he’s wearing or the cost of the bike.
Good thing he’s wearing his helmet. Bush and/or Cheney might decide to drive drunk again at any moment.

Wow - that’s just about the lamest anti-Kerry post I have seen yet. Totally agree.

Why did you bother? It’s not like it’s hard to find real issues to disagree with the guy about - he’s been around long enough to have pissed everybody off at one time or another. Exactly.

I just don’t get it, and it makes me sad; this kind of nonsense passes for legitimate political discourse these days. Exactly why I avoid the political threads; the bike mention suckered me in on this one.

Truely, I’m saddened by this shit - and I see it coming from both sides of the political spectrum, with increasing frequency. Again, yep. Dem’s can’t say anything positive about Rep’s, and Rep’s can’t say anything positive about Dem’s. It’s disgusting.

*Very *lame.

Gary Mc,

Or Ted Kennedy, for that matter.

I seem to recall that Kerry had fallen off his bike before in the recent past and had injured his shoulder or elbow and had had surgery to repair damage to his body from the fall. I didn’t know that he was good to go already. Might have fallen again for not having ridden in some time. A little rusty as they say. He might be trying to get back on the “horse” after the “horse” had thrown him.

Dude,

That was a stealth attempt on Kerry’s part to deflect criticism and draw attention away from the SUV controversy. Unless he crashed, we would not otherwise have heard about his bike ride. It just proves that you can never underestimate the importance of good bike handling skills while campaigning for President.

On behalf of everyone who has not yet done so, I want to extend to you my appreciation for that post. I probably would not have found it otherwise. Your sharing this with us shows us courage and class. It is very uplifting to know that secret service agents are out there riding their bikes. Next to a MOAB, that’s how I like to see my tax dollars being spent.

We all know what happened when Kerry went snowboarding a couple of months back…

Pay no attention to the ‘sadness’ or the ‘lack of class’ comments. It’s bullshit. Don’t think for a minute that the next time Bush says or does something stupid…something that is seemingly irrelevent as it relates to more ‘serious’ matters, that the left would not be all over it.

Keep fighting the good fight!!

That’s no way to talk about the next president of the USA.

Oh and like the current administration are men of the people? I love how republicans are trying to make Kerry’s money an issue when Bush and his entire cabinet are all filthy rich.

If Bush didn’t come from the wealthy family that he did, his job would consist of asking people, “Do you want fries with that?” But because the Bushes are loaded, and because daddy was already president, this underachiever with scarcely a control of the english language gets to be president. And there are millions of American dopes out there willing to defend him. What has America come to?

I wish my wife would buy me a Serotta.

Might have fallen again for not having ridden in some time. A little rusty as they say. He might be trying to get back on the “horse” after the “horse” had thrown him.

Or, you could find out what really happened, which is that he slipped on a patch of sand. Source is someone at the shop where he purchased his new (second) Serotta Ottrott.

I appreciate you appreciating me posting the post I did…I really didn’t think it was lame (and how was my post misleading - I posted a link and mocked him in my title!)…in fact I thought it was interesting…had my boy Bush been doing the same thing, I would have posted that too…I just thought the picture was funny and how a guy riding a $5,000 bike keeps falling off it! …does Serotta make training wheels?

HEY PEOPLE…don’t be so sensitive…Kerry has about 5 more months in the spotlight until he fades into oblivion…let’s have some fun with him!

“It is very uplifting to know that secret service agents are out there riding their bikes. Next to a MOAB, that’s how I like to see my tax dollars being spent.”

do you feel the same way when the secret service is trailing mr. bush on one of his training runs or in a race?

Definitely. Except I don’t know that many secret service agents can keep up with the Pres. 20:29 5K PR and a 3:44 marathon PR is pretty good!!

He was talking about Kerry…not Bush.

Just curious.

Do the Secret Service guys have to supply their own bikes or do we, the tax payers, buy them? If we are buying them, I wonder what we are buying.

The same question could be asked about the running shoes of Bush’s Secret Servie staff.

Tucker

as far as bikes go, on the inside of Trek’s home offices they have a couple of bikes they supply to the Secret Service on them…they actually say ‘Secret Service’ on the top tube…doesn’t that make them not-so-secret?

they were mountain bikes with an LX set-up and basic front suspension…probably the equal to a Trek 6700…$675 retail?

See that…what an idiot - he is on Shimano…dumbass
.

That was a good one Record. He must be a dumbass for using Shimano.

Oh, but the way, how are your, ah, well, you know?

His other (first) Serotta has Campy.

His other (first) Serotta has Campy

Yeah, I had him pegged for an elitist snob.
