Why are they talking about this shit. I watch espn for sports not religious discussion.
They weren’t talking about it on ESPN. Schilling was on a very long anti-evolution rant on Twitter and Law responded. They can actually be real people when they aren’t at work.
Who is Keith Law and why should I care about his need to feel intellectually superior?
At this point I wouldn’t even call it feeling intellectually superior, it’s like correcting a child who insists the earth is flat. You can’t really feel superior about that.

So why not take the more mature adult route and keep your opposing opinions, fact or otherwise, to yourself?

Two wrongs… make two people look stupid.
Only 1 person in that exchange was wrong. He made himself look incredibly stupid. He was really only outshined in the stupid pile by Megan fox and her museum video.

So, you apparently didn’t read the conversation. CS directly asked anyone to post any evidence of transition fossils between amphibians and any other animal. KL, who is likely following due to the sports relationship, obliges.
On another note, I find it an interesting choice of words bolded above. Twitter is definitely the place to post facts, opinions, and discussions.

Excuse me, but do you really think this is an appropriate place for sharing such information?

Who are you to come here flaunting that fancy book learning?

Posting on Twitter an opposing reply to Schilling’s tweet is also a stupid. I don’t know who Law is but I’m sure he’s getting his 15 minutes.

Not to mention it’s just poor logic. Fossilization is an extremely rare event and there are limited resources for discovering them even when they exist. There will always be a “transitional” fossil that doesn’t exist or hasn’t been found yet. All you have to do is pick the right groups of species to ask the question about. Now I doubt Schilling has an understanding of the fossil record that exists for any species or groups of organisms and was just parroting a creationism talking point he heard somewhere.

Isn’t sharing opinions/facts and replying to those opinions the entire purpose of Twitter? The only stupid act here is Schilling declaring his lack of intelligence to the world.
Law and Shilling are peers who are both ESPN baseball analysts. Law wasn’t looking for any fame from this; he saw ignorance and provided some facts. Kudos to him.

Twitter is too often the great revealer of stupidity. One stupid tweet deserves another one. Dumb and dumber, I guess.

I don’t use Twitter, but from what I’ve seen, you’re dead on about it revealing stupidity. I’m finding that online forums are the same way.
Honest question: Can you share what was stupid about Law’s response to Schilling? I only see an intelligent response to a request borne out of ignorance.
