Keeping insoles IN my cycling shoes

So in nearly 25 years I have never had this problem, but there is a first time for everything. When I pull my foot out of my Shimano shoes I pull the insert right out every time. I bought a half size small this time b/c I’m not wearing sox for the first time in a long time. It’s the R132 road shoe, but that shouldn’t matter b/c all the velcro and ratchets are loose when I take them off. Have put tape underneath the soles, but it gets wet with sweat and stops after a few rides.

Super glue?

Any home remedies out there? Thanks

Thin layer of Shoo Goo in a couple of spots should do it.

Try double sided outdoor carpet tape. Works for me.

Roger that thanks guys. Going to do both!

Had an issue in college (racing & training), where the insole came out the back of the classic boot (big toe curled up & then flattened out–repeat). Basically it pushed the insole right out the back. I used carpet tape (still have that same roll in my garage decades later!) It worked like a charm. I’d use the tape before shoe goo.
