Kalibur BB

Hey,
What’s the treading on a Kalibur? Since the bike is “Italian” I’m not sure if it is English or Italian threading.
Thanks.

It is English. You do want to be careful with what length bottom bracket spindle you are using though. Our experience building three of the bikes has demonstrated that nine speed drivetrains are unacceptably noisey on these frames.

This may becasue the frame was designed around a ten speed specific platform- I’m not sure.

In general they are fine bikes, but they may be at their best with a more recent 10 speed component kit.

I was thinking about the Ergomo BB. I think that it is not compatible with 10sp DA…
phooey.

Tom,

Is this also true for the Isaac Joule? If so are you specifically talking about the crank/BB combo systems that are now in play by Shimano and FSA or are you saying the entire drivetrain needs to be 10 speed?

We just bought some Joules but haven’t built them so I can’t give you a good answer. Beautiful bike though.

Mine is English and I have Dura Ace 9spd with no problems, I have the shortest BB I could use in it but cant remember what it was.

You’ll love the bike, I upgraded from a Calfee Tetra Pro and find it very similar but way better look’n.
