so i was snooping around and found this on their website. Dubbed “K-ruuz” the racing flats that many have been asking for or wondering about are set to be released the Monday following Kona. I know i want a pair!
The new racing flat (the K-Ruuz) will be launched and available in Kona in a limited quantity. It is light (less than 6 oz), fast (just ask Matty Reed), with excellent drainage and breathability (perfect for hot weather races). with cushioning not found in most flats. It will be available at retail in early 2010
It’ll be heavier. Less cushioning may not be a downside but could actually be better for short races. But now that you praise cushioning “not found in most flats”…
the K-ona has a regular sandwich mesh upper (like most running shoes) and the K-ona s has a single layer poly upper that is very unique. gives with the foot, most of the KSwiss athletes like to race in this one because it gives with swelling so getting blisters is very rare. it also breathes a little better and doesn’t hold water so the shoe stays light even after pouring water on them. most of the gang trains in the K-ona and races in the K-ona s. in Hawaii we will debut 6 new k-ona s styles with country flag themes. USA, AUS, Brazil, Canada, Germany, and Japan. very cool! Uli, the lunar racer is a great shoe and i wouldn’t tell anyone otherwise. we do have a full cushioned stroble board between the midsole and the foodbed whcih is very uncommon on shoes that light. the cushioning is fantastic.

Thanks!
IOW, I stick to my Nikes because they are better. Good for you that they are messing up the shoe for next season with a slight support.
we should have all the flag product and racing flats there as well. canada flag K-ona as well. the k-ona c should read the keahou c which is a carbon edition.
from the photos the K-Ona S, looking at the Blue Water colored ones, They look like the holes in front of toes arent there like the white and gold, is this true? That would be great for winter…
