So I’ve been excited to put in some serious training hours my body has been craving since I finally have a week off. First my running was taken away via ITB problems, now my swimming has been taken away by, of all stupid things - a bacterial or viral infection in my salivary gland! The right side of my face is swollen up past my ear!
So I’m limited to the trainer. And don’t even get to celebrate Christmas with any beer/wine thanks to the antibiotics.
Sigh. Ok, I feel better now. Thanks for listening! Happy Holidays to all!
I feel your pain. I was looking forward to two weeks off from school to put in some huge base miles, but I’ve had a nasty cold, cough, and of all things, pink eye. All I’ve been doing is sitting on the couch watching movies.

We’re sitting here having opened presents with love of family and listening to John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas”. Aside from family and friends, my biggest present today is the health to be able to do this sport. Just being able to get out of bed, and head out for a run or ride, is just so amazing. Sometimes, in our little world, we forget what a big deal it is actually possible. No war, no land mines to run around, no cancer.
Anyway, thanks dudes and dudettes for an awesome year.
sincerely
Dev
Don’t get me wrong having set backs or being injured/sick sucks but I read Dev’s thread this morning…Kinda puts things in perseptive.
Hope you get better soon.
