Will make you think twice about going to Mcdonalds…The guy ate all meals at McDonalds for 30 days and his liver almost shut down!
Still the best way to fix a hangover… ![]()

If you think the movies is good then you should read Fast Food Nation!
I just saw the movie yesterday too and the thing that surprised me the most I think was his “addiction” to the food. I expected him to just finish to prove a point and have to fight to finish all his meals and just be all around sick of mcdonalds. But he craved it and said how good it made him feel while eating it.
also interesting was what the doctor said about the same chemicals in the brain being activated by heroin and mcd’s when they were talking about the injections for heroin od’s. crazy. when he puked after the double quarterpounder with cheese i thought he would be hating mcd’s for the next 20 days.
Makes me glad that I haven’t eaten fast food in about a year and a half, since I started training for cycling.
No question. Great movie. Everyone should see it.

Since I saw the movie I think I never went back to macdonald’s again and we’re talking of 3 months or so…
Oh… right, once I got INTO a macdonalds to drink a coffee and eat two apples (yes, they have fresh apples)
The thing is… around here, McDrive is the only “restaurant” serving till 2 am! :-))
This was shown on UK TV last night and I could only stomach (to coin a phrase) 30 minutes of it befire I went training again and had a salad. Truly, truly frightening…
A masterful piece of agit-prop. I felt like my bodyfat % increase just by watching it.
I didn’t feel like eating for the rest of the evening. I had never lost my appetite watching a movie before.
Still haven’t seen the movie, but haven’t been to a McD’s for seven years.
you may find this thread enlightening as well (about the movie):

Super Size indeed.
It’s all part of two key trends that have created the over-weight and obesity problem in North America
Portion sizes for ALL meals over the last 30 years have become bigger and bigger - More calories consumed.
Daily physical activity over the same time period has declined, significantly - Less calories burn/used.
The end result is a population that has progessivly become bigger and bigger, to the point that it is now a serious health issue. They predic that the current generation that are in their teens now, may be the first in the devloped world to see their life expectancy reduced due to the complications and negative health implications of being overweight and obese.
Too their credit, chains like McDonalds have started to introduce healthier choices to their range of offerings. Problem is, for several generations, burger/fries/and a coke, has been the knee-jerk staple. Just like with smoking, it will take a number of years( I am guessing about 20) to get the message across, that foods, this dense in calories and loaded with this much fat, are un-healthy.

Yeah, I saw it on dish network and couldn’t believe it. I’m a bad person but it’s hard for me not to come out of that movie and not judge fat people. I also could not believe what THOSE KIDS were eating. I thought I ate bad as a kid but that was rediculous.
all in all, a great movie and eye-opening. I recommend it to everyone. I of course went to McD’s a month following the movie. But I only go there around once every few months anyway. Can’t get enough of the fake chicken mcnuggets and the mystery chicken pieces.
You know you want it.

I’ll have to give credit to McD’s. They’ve created a product that is fast, economical and tasty. There business model is one that many can learn from…
While I rarely eat there, I have to admit a good, cheap and tasty hamburger can’t be beat along with a side of fries and a milkshake.
There’s a reason they’ve served many billions…they make a good product and people are willing to eat it.
Is it the healthiest? Of course not…any idiot who eats it for 30 days straight is going to get fat…but an occasional meal there isn’t an issue.
They created a rock solid business plan that made fast food a reality and profitable…kudos for their ingenuity…
"They created a rock solid business plan that made fast food a reality and profitable…kudos for their ingenuity… "
Amen. You can say the same thing for Phillip Morris. Capitalism, forward ho! Our health and integrity be damned.
try the same thing with
real bread
not mass produced meat
fresh veggies (salad tomatoes, onions)
and now talk about tasty…some non-chain restaurants do serve fresh hamburgers and the taste is just so much better than this thing served at McD…
can’t even believe you think it’s tasty…nothing in there actually taste like the real stuff
your comment re. business, however, can’t be argued with…definitely a winner.
What is the comparison between PM and McD’s? One manufacturers cigarettes and the other food??? Care to explain your comment?
they are (partly) responsible for the #1 and 2 causes of death…cancer and obesity+complications (diabetis, heart problems)
.
Can’t argue with the fact that there are tastier hamburgers out there but taste is very individual. I don’t know how can you dictate to others what tastes good and tastes bad…

That’s not hardly correct. People eating irresponsibly and using cancer causing substances are responsible for those causes of death. Not the companies.
In addition, you’re incorrect on obesity and diabetes/heart problems. It was relisted to #7.
