Finally pulled the trigger and ordered one. I wanted the blue paint scheme in the 2011 7.5 and glad they made it available on the 7.0 for 2012. Should be in late this week or early next week. Can’t wait!

Good buy, just switch out the bullhorn.

+1, i dont know what trek was thinking when they spec’d that base bar.
Thought they would get you to buy the bontrager carbon bar.
Where did you find out the 2012 color info? Their website still only shows the 2011 model colors.
Did the colors on the 7.2 or the 7.5 change as well?
I was at the LBS today to try and haggle the price of the 2011. I asked about the specs on the 2012 and he pulled up Treks dealer website which had the new colors. For 2012 7.0 = Blue, 7.2 = Red and 7.5 = Black. The only thing that changed from 2011 - 2012 is the type of carbon they used, its supposed to be stiffer. The price went up only $50 from 2011 for the TT bikes, it went up a lot more for the road bikes for some reason.

Nice I have the same bike on the way! I’ve already got the carbon bullhorn ready to swap out. The difference in the carbon is that their OCLV carbon used to only be available in Wisconsin made frames, which is the 9 series. They’ve now moved that technology overseas, so the 7 series should see an improvement in frame quality. However you still got to get the 9 series for the really good stuff.
Either way, I’m excited for my bike. High five!
