The fact that something “Is your heritage” does not mean we simply accept and allow it among others under the guise of “Well we did the same thing”. Saying “Before we throw stones” all but condones the actions themselves. No matter how much we do wrong ourselves it does not make the incorrect actions of others any better. Yes we may have something happening in our very own back yard that is wrong or unjust, we should face both our own incorrect actions as well as these actions of others with the same “Stone throwing” not simply ignore one because we’ve made the same wrong are even making the same wrong.
Again, yet another quip from the Bible that seems to garner wide spread public acceptance that is also completely wrong or at very least incorrectly used.

Who is this strawman you speak of? I don’t know anyone who actually thinks that violent groups will stop through kindness, but I do know people who are circumspect enough to doubt that we can stem the problem with more violence.
