So this measures white Americans’ perceptions of themselves only? In other words, if I were to respond to the poll, I’d be measuring my own “negative stereotype score,” not my assessment of whites in general, correct? What’s the margin of error on this?

They should take a sub sample and do some of those psychological tests that get at bias without people being aware that’s what they are getting at in order to see how subjective matches up with objective.

So white people feel less racist after the president is no longer black, interesting. Also for independents and democrats, the prejudice against Hispanics have gone down, but Republicans it is basically flat.

Also weird how prejudice shoots up during the presidential elections in both '12 and '16.

The “implicit bias” tests are far from accepted in the scientific community and I would definitely not call them “objective.”

There’s a new bar now.

People might have thought they were a little prejudiced before. But now that the curtains are pulled back on tiki torch carrying level of prejudice people can say I know some inappropriate jokes- but I’m not a tiki torch owner so I’m probably good.

That doesn’t make them not objective, that makes them invalid.
