Junk food (1)

how often do you eat it?

i just had kfc for lunch.mmmmmmm.

cold stone creamery ice cream… usually once a week – my long ride reward. My girlfriend and I both go… I figure I’m still way short on calories even after eating it…

I eat so much of it when I am riding I am getting a bit worried. Plus it seems I want a chocolate bar a day at work.

I often eat McD’s after my long bricks (kid’s cheeseburger and a chocolate milk - yum!)

Depends how much I’m working. If it’s a really busy week then more than I should, but I try to stick with pre-package salads or lower fat options like Subway.

Other than that I might eat it once every couple of weeks as a reward for a good week. If that’s the case then I’ll go all out and get a bacon double cheese burger from Burger King or something just as fat laden and delicious!

You are weak, weak. :-;

I don’t get it? What’s your point? lol

Are you on for IMNZ next year? If so, keep up the diet.

i prob eat junk food about twice a week at least. yeah i am doing imnz again.

Yeah once in a while I have to have the nastiest burger I can find (usually a double whopper with everything).

I was eating soooo healthily for months, thne as the volume picked up, I started eating crap more often. It feels like trying to fill the gaps…

I will check out the prepacked fud, any suggestions? Otherwise I’ll just buy a few cases of boost for the office…

How is the training going? I am having a bit of trouble getting up in the dark and getting out the door. Yesterday morning I decided I needed sleep more than exercise, and stayed in bed until 9am. First time in two years.

it is going ok. like you i have probs getting oput of bed tho. cant often my alarm will go off at 540am for swim training, and ill reset it for 750am. i am pretty unfit on the bike. nothing that a few laps of the lake won’t fix thougyh, which i plan on doing in a few weeks time. then snowboard season will interrupt my weekend training to an extent. oh well.

what about your training? my running feels pretty good. swim and bike both unfit tho.

How strange. I’m building up the running again. which is OK. If I can’t do a PB at the Taupo 1/2 Marathon I’m taking up Stationary Rowing instead. But swimming and biking I’m off the pace of my swim squad/Sunday ride at the moment. Both are strength related, got dropped on the final set of hills the other day. I suppose thats what happens when you slack off totally for two months.

How about you MM…doing the big show again?

I’ll train up for a half IM in December and see how it goes after that. I fancy doing it again but I think its a bit unfair on the family, even though I’m a eight to thirteen hours training a week man, max. Its a very addictive feeling with all of the support and the sheer challenge of the thing, different to any other event I’ve done. I feel there’s a bit of unfinished business, I want to pace the bike better and make a better job of the run.

How about you. Are you up to it this year?

I just warched the movie " Supersize Me" last night. It will be a long time before I eat fast food again. Scary stuff. Chocolate, now that’s a different story.

"unfit’ I like that word. It says a lot.

yes, the time commitment alone is something to consider.

No IM for me yet…content to chip away at my limiters, get better at Oly/Half distance, shift some weight and get my head around the whole thing a little more.

I guess it depends on what you consider “junk food”, my weakness has always been soda pop (Mt. Dew and Coca Cola). I used to dring 4 per day, but am now down to a restricive 2 per day :-)! Sometimes, if I have a lot going on I’ll do only one, but then there are those hot days where after working out, I’ll go get a 32 oz. soda fountain pop. But I train enough, that it never results in extra pounds. Rarely eat fast food…unless you consider grilled chicken breast at Subway or a burrito at Chipotle fast food? I’ll usually eat chocolate once a day - try to break it up into small quantities, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider chocolate “junk” food.

ice cream is a part of my daily diet. And I won’t hesitate to eat a candy bar or drink soda. I don’t believe in depriving myself of something I crave…and it makes me happy. I feel that working out 10-15 hours a week gives me a TON of leeway in the diet department.
