Fun story for tonight: some woman behind me showed up to the game drunk. I was there with wife and kids.
She proceeds to buy about 6 beers during the game, loudly swearing the whole time. Belching in my ear… etc. just being a huge piece of trash.
Around the 7th inning I got tired of the constant swearing and turned around and sternly asked her watch her language.
A couple of people around me gave the thumbs up. I think everyone was tired of her.
From then on her daughter was crying and she was making comments like: “some people are just assholes”.
Yeah. Some people are just assholes.
I wouldn’t have any problem alerting security. I fucking hate people who think they can like they’re in the comfort of their own livingroom.
Glad the Jays got the win. We’re going to the Chi Sox game tomorrow, I’m sure we’ll lose.
I didn’t fell that her bavaviour warranted security. She was annoying, and swore too much for my liking. But not belligerent.
I live in Florida and there are two municipalities that put on fireworks along the bay. The only way that I would consider it is if I had a dock on the water. I can’t imagine waiting 2 hours to load up the boat at a landing as all the drunk morons struggle to load their boats and then stand there having conversations while people wait 20 trucks deep.
I don’t understand that kind of behavior. Why go do something that you can’t enjoy unless you are drunk?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three people are believed to have been injured by “celebratory” gunfire in downtown Nashville following the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th fireworks display, according to officials.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said the three people were located in separate areas of downtown, and were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-critical injuries.
Just another reason I don’t go downtown for the big holidays. One year one of my coworkers was stabbed at the downtown New Year’s Eve celebration.
Admit it, you miss the Jerry Springer Show.
Who knows? I can’t imagine showing up anywhere already drunk.
But that’s just me.

At least you got a break from Springer on the weekends. The trump shit show is 7 days a week.
Years ago I was handling an insurance claim for a couple. I ended up going to their house twice. Both times, the wife, who was on some type of disability, was in the house smoking and watching the Springer or a similar show. I thought to myself that I would rather die than have a life like that.
Her husband followed me around talking the entire time, even after I told him that I needed to be able to concentrate. I think that he was so lonely for human companionship that he latched on.
Yeah I was the asshole for daring to say that they are swearing way too much.
We are visiting friends in Cheyenne, WY. They have a house on the north side of town up on a hill overlooking the city. So we sat on their balcony and had about a 180 degree fireworks show for an hour. We could see some town’s show over in Nebraska, down to the CO/WY border where there were a bunch of firewooks stores setting them off. People all around town shooting them off for about half an hour before hte town’s show started.
Normally I won’t even go out to see fireworks, but this was a really good experience.

Had a guy try to cut the airport shuttle line in sweltering heat in Miami this spring, putting himself and his wife on the next shuttle. His wife tried to pull him out of line when the grumbling started but he wouldn’t budge until I told him he wasn’t cutting in front of people who’d been waiting for almost an hour. So naturally he did the same, cursed me out as he walked away asking what my fucking problem was.
Narcissism is interesting to see in action. Shame converts to anger without missing a beat.

Spent 2 days in Marquette, MI with family. Fireworks canceled due to technical issue, social media comments are entertaining.
Now in Duluth to see Trampled By Turtles annual hometown show.
Hope all keep all their fingers intact.
Seeing more drone amd laser shows replace boom boom fireworks. I like it, better for pets and vets specifically - the amatuer sporadic sessions that go until mid month.
I lit my share of mortars and bottle rockets in my youth, but as a mid life gen Xer, quiet down, get off my lawn and leave me to my peace.

Car trip north out of Denver to Encampment WY early on the 4th. Just like magic, all God’s children got the memo to travel before the 4th. It does not get any more quiet (before the fireworks), any more comfortable and any more scenic than the view from my SIL’s childhood back yard with a cold one in hand. The local fireworks were matched with Thor’s magic light show in the sky and a little rain cooled us all off. The 5th was equally nice with an hour soak in the world’s most outstanding Hobo Hot Springs 20 miles up the road in Saratoga. Three pools with 3 varied temps all above 108. The pools are free and are open 24 hrs per day and 365 days per year. A block party concert followed that evening headlined by Chancey Williams (a local boy from Saratoga) and band. The 4th celebration in small-town Encampment and Saratoga WY should be a bucket list item for all eastern elites. There is an other half to God’s country.
