Bryce starts the local club time trial on a new position, a less than optimal frame fit (not from us) and 3 hours sleep: Frequent ST contributor and outstanding cyclist/multisport athlete Cullen Watkins starts on his Felt fixed gear:

We get ready to leave the shop for the local club time trial:
One of the local club guys gets his start:
Was that this morning? Shit. I have just been milling around my in-laws house in Plymouth all morning. It would have been nice to get out and bust some ass.
You prabably would have done well too. WE were all “knackered” from fitting bikes until 3:30 AM, 2:30 AM for Julian and BRyce.
Maybe I will show up with some coffee and RB for you guys later. We may have to go to Dearborn.
Cool. We’re hitting the Mexican place in Mexicantown tonight. You’re invited Sir.
I thought Julian was coming to GET the R2.5, and that you didn’t have one for him…where did THAT bike come from?
Bryce would be faster had he slept properly, not with the new position
.
Hey Brian, have you been working or something? Tom moved heaven and earth, and managed to track down a frame for me last week. It fits a treat and was a real blast to ride this morning at the PATT.
Bryce left Bikesport with a Renn disc, but started the TT with a “regular” Mavic Cosmic Carbone. What am I missing?

You Sir, are not missing *anything. *And you get the award for being observant. Very, very good.
Leaving the store this morning in our fatigued state amounted to a comedy of errors. We had to go back three times because of it.
Firstly, we rolled away from the store and Bryce’s cassette body on his new disk was seizing slightly. It would not ratchet adequately. We returned to the store and switched wheels. After the TT we came back to the shop and re-built the rear cassette body on the disk. It was fine in the stand, but not reliable on the road. After we (actually, Superdave did the work) rebuilt the hub we tested it in the stand (which apparently doesn’t mean much based on our previous experience). It is fine now, but we haven’t road tested it. The store has been packed all day. We’re headed out to test the wheel on the road in a while, then the entire crew is off to dinner at the Mexican restaurant in Mexicantown.
It that a B2 Carbon attached to that Easton EC90 aero fork? Do you have it in my size? Can you ship it to me tomorrow? I really need it badly since I am racing on Saturday and will not be able to compete without that B2 carbon that you have hanging in your shop…
It has been several seconds, and I have not gotten a tracking number from you for the shipment of the B2 carbon in my size that you have hanging in your shop. When can I expect the tracking number? I have been very patient with you, Tom, but my patience is wearing thin…
10 people in your shop and not a woman in sight. Something needs tweaking.
Yes, that is the new B2 Carbon that doesn’t even exist yet. We have the only one there isn’t. Call me with a Visa number and if they ever make one, the first one is yours. I hear about two weeks.
Dammit, Tom! Where is my bike? It has been well over a minute and it has not arrived yet! Can’t you just box it up and get it to me? My entire season will be thrown off unless I receive that B2 carbon you have, in my size, hanging in your shop!
THAT was funny.
Not likely. I’ve been sat here since the TT this morning and it has been rammed with all sorts of people most of the day !!!
That’s what I want to hear. Ummm, didn’t I write your signature line…
Very nice. Stating the obvious, but it is guys like Tom who will continue to keep the “LBS” a viable option in this age of price-is-the-only-thing-that-matters internet sales…
