I never understood why you would by a juicer. Your just throwing out all the good stuff.
Explain that to me. I really do not understand the whole juicer appeal, but, the wifey really wants one and they are getting to be incredibly popular. I am trying to learn why, but, I don’t quite understand. What would you use instead of a juicer to get more of the “good stuff” and how would you use it?
We bought a juicer 10 years ago and it gets used 6 to 10 times a year. We have bought 3 blenders in the same ten years. The last blender we purchased is a Kitchen Aid for $99. The blade is integrated into the bowl, so cleaning it is a breeze. It gets used 3 or 4 times a day to make green smoothies. We debated on getting a vita-mix, but I could not justify the cost. I figure that I can buy 5 Kitchen Aid blenders for the price of one vita-mix.
I remain unsure about the watts-to-capacity ratio; in other words, I’m not sure if the size of the container dilutes the wattage.…
Of course it does, but a half a gallon more or less isn’t going to make a big difference. In that sense, the shape, positioning of the blades will make a much bigger difference than a slightly bigger or smaller container.
