Yeah, this was a couple weeks ago and it was EPIC!
Horrible, horrible story – Five year old girl is sitting on grandpa’s lap and takes a stray bullet to the head by some gang-bangers who randomly shot at the house. Wifie’s co-worker and close friend is a long-time fishing buddy with the grandpa and has kids around the same age who used to play with the little girl. Not sure how you ever recover from this.
Chief Flynn is a clown and recently received a vote of no confidence by the Police Union. But, I was quite proud of this and he is responding aggressively on this case.
That was a top notch response. Good for him.
As to the 5 year old victim. I read that and was heart broken for that child and family.
I hope that the community will overcome the “snitches get stitches” mentality and turn on the gangbangers who are doing so much harm to their communities. As the chief said, they get so upset when a LEO kills someone while trying to protect their community - but don’t appear to turn any of that anger towards the gangbangers who are do much worse on a daily basis.
Our financial adviser lost his adult son this year, on father’s day, to a senseless shooting. The son and his wife had just brought his infant son home from the hospital a few days after his birth. They were in the living room when the adult son fell to the floor. He had been accidentally shot in the back of the head by a (alcoholic, useless) neighbor who was shooting his pistol into the trees in his backyard.
The guy was careless and took the life of a good man who had just welcomed a child into his family.
