Does anyone know where i could see some up close pics of his rigged up water bottle cage placed between the areo bars?
Thanks
you can even buy it!
I believe this was discussed sometime last summer/fall. I don’t remember the thread name but you will likely find it in a search.
Here is mine…a Profile Karbon Kage with the top cut off then a few zip ties!

Wouldn’t just about any cage and zipp ties work? It looks like that is the norm.

Pretty much! : )
Its simple and works.
I thought you had behind the saddle on the Griffen, why the change?

I am going to go FAST AS HELL! : )~
Going to pair it with a Profile razor bottle on the seat tube.
Will throw the BTS set up on for long training rides (i.e. getting ready for IM Az).
I use this same setup (bottle on the aerobars + 2 behind the saddle ). This works great for 70.3s.
Same thing (zip ties)
Does that bottle run against your forearms?
I use a simple side entry design cage - great for this application.
Search “CatCage Catamount” on eBay (no affiliation with seller). Goes for about $10 shipped.
My cage has seen about 18 months of use with no issues.

Arms touch lightly but it doesn’t bpther me any.
Not quite…there are a few of the light carbon cages that hold bottles a bit loosely and the bottle will be ejected as surely as a bottle cage holder will behind your seat.
I just did this on my P2C and it works great. I cannot wait until my next race when I won’t be distracted as hell by that damn yellow sponge thingy that keeps flying out after every bump thus leaving me with water splashing in my face for the remainder of the race.
I was looking for something to replace the profile design deal and have used a regular bottle cage and zip ties. I have a non-carbon cage (gasp) that holds the bottle pretty tight and it hasn’t even hinted at flying out. It slightly rubs my inner forearms, but doesn’t bother anywhere near as much as that damn profile design set up. You really just forget about it after a while.
I don’t need you going any faster, I can’t catch you as it is. Slow down!!! At least I can count on DD going slow ![]()
Sorry for the late reply. Modified Trek Batcage (drilled and a small piece of Yankz laces used to really secure the bottles)

so do you pull the bottle out from the rear or grab and take out the from the front by the nozzle? thanks for posting the pics.
This may sound ignorant or stupid, but what advantage does having a water bottle on top of your aero bars have v. a normal profile aero drink? Is it more aero, or do you just use it out of personal preference/convenience?
it doesn’t spill water and mesh all over the freaking road
the frontal area is much less. arguably it is zero since your arms cover it up
you can just toss the bottle and grab a new one rather than trying to fill up one bottle from another on the run
basically it is better in every way
