Jonnyo on a P2C?

Maybe a P2C for training and travelling and a P4 for racing.

I like about team TBB

if you are a rookie with the team you automatically go with the P2C and you work you way up.

What surprises me most about Jonnyo is that “DOC” is allowing him to post this much on ST!!!

I’m sure Johnyo has a part on his contract that he ask to be able to be on slowtwitch.

LOL

he dosnt know!!! he dosnt read slowtwitch!

i will post pic of the bike when i get to philippines in 10 days… for now, it s getting put together by me but i honestly cant stay on my legs more than 5min because i m jsut exausthed so it might take awile!!!

i have to say, the paint job of the p2 2009 in grey and red is UNBELIVABLE in person… very classy! I M LOVIN’ IT!

I bet the choice was “Well, we won’t have any P4s for a few months. So you can either take a P3 and be happy or ride a P2 until the P4s come in.”

i will post pic of the bike when i get to philippines in 10 days…

Jonny…when you get to Subic don’t go playing with the rock apes. They bite and like to throw stuff at you!

Hey Jonathan,

What are your big races for 2009?

Are you keeping last years P3C’s in the fleet?

What comes after the camp in the Phillipine’s?

Will we see you in Penticton this summer? (Racing or training)

Stay healthy
tom

Not that Jonnyo requires any backup in his own ST backyard, just a few quick comments anyway:

  1. Jonathan was of course given a choice for a P4 as a long time Cervelo athlete. We have rules about earning a bike on this squad and they serve a good purpose, but some things overrule rules such as 1) the bike must fit the athlete for optimal performance and 2) respect for each individual and his past experience and own personal story. We respect his decison to go for a P2 and simply hope he will be riding a P4 very soon

  2. I’m Dutch and hence my written English often sucks. Brett is Australian and Yes his messages can take a little time to get used to. But here is the beauty, either you DECIDE to A) Read them and you will soon get a direct insight and access into the mind of a performance and result freak or B) You just decide to just ignore these messages totally. Then there is the ‘other group’ who always make sure they publicly complain and raise it as an issue on whatever forum, so sorry folks but you missed the decision point totally… Here is the deal, lot’s of his coaching happens through our public team forum and little messages to each athlete. These athletes all decided for option A and had some pretty cool results once they did. Lucie Zelenkova never met Brett yet and was trained by email for one month. She is Czech, so could imagine some room for massive confusion. Well after she won her first IM 70.3 last Sunday, there were very little complaints from both coach and athlete about message with unclear English language… It’s a personal choice, that’s all.

  3. Yep Doc does indeed not read ST, but I do now and then and enjoy it! A fact is that both Brett, Jonnyo and I never even once discussed what Jonnyo can or can’t do on ST. This is a free world folks, and as long as training programs remain under wraps, your Jonnyo is as much as a respected member on teamtbb and our forum as he is on ST. Does this require clauses in a contract, hell no!

Wishing everyone a great season and some magic in 2009!

Tom

a bit reason i have move to the P2 is i m now on a 54cm from a 51cm p3. I need a longer head tube as i dont ride particulary low. My position is very similar to my training partner tom evans and i do need a bit more head tube. The p2 is a amazing fit for me. 90mm -17 stem…no spacer!!! I was on the road with it today and really enjoy the ride!

I will be back in penticton for the summer(mid april)…really looking forward to it . I hope to race the national championship in osoyoos against you!!! and oliver half ironman and if the training goes well for me, Brett might let me have a shot at IMC!!!

For now,

TBB camp in philippines feb march
ironman australia april
wildflower in may

hope to see you at osoyoos! would be fun to hang out!

i m getting a very nice Oval 901 bar for the P2 when arriving in philippines! i will share the set up in pictures!!!

Hi Jonathan!

You made my month…Thanks for the invite to come North, to my favorite place on earth, to Be, Train and Race.

Timing is everything, and you do not know how big a boost that was to hear positive words from you tonite.

I am in agreement with ‘Doc’, Mr Bok and You, in that it is the athlete engine that drives the bike…not the tubes on the frame.

Especially me on my beloved grey Aluminium P3…click here

How long will you be in the Phillipines?

Then is it back to New Mexico?

TP,

Not sleeping well

finaly i got some pictures!

i have a new camera…and got all my new parts on the bike so here it is!!!

So, i just got those really cool Oval bars and there is a lot of adjustement to them… i need to play more with them to get a better idea but so far, they look sharp!

Bike is mostly dura ace, 54cm frame, and 170mm crankset. I should be racing on this set up for ironman australia on april 5th!

tc does the required oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over jonnyo’s new bike

Seriously, it’s beautiful.

ok time for me to go train  I only have to run ONCE though. Sometimes I run twice. Next to your six runs a day I feel like a complete slacker.

training??? what time is it in maine??? 4am??? go to bed!!!

LOL. You still have the Austin Tri-Cyclist stickers on it. I think we put about 7 or 8 of them hidden throughout the frame. Enjoy the bike and get back to Austin sometime soon.

Have you always ridden 170mm cranksets or did you just switch? If so, any reason why? Looks sharp but you need to get some extensions with a deeper s-bend.

shawn, i was on 175… we move me to 170, because we want me faster and faster:)!!!

Sweeeeet ride.
