He was a world renowned pediatric cardiologist. He was in addition a triathlete, and he committed suicide this morning in Arkansas. Last year at this time, ABC did a national focus on his efforts and success as a pediatric cardiologist here in Little Rock, for the Children’s Hospital. He was the principal focus of the 2 month long series on that, on national television. You may have seen that series. He seemed like an upbeat and healthy guy.
They had some shots of him joggging and working out, along the river, where he ran.
He was a huge triathlete and occasionally talked about it on the show.
I met him briefly last summer. He was top of his age group here in Arkansas. Dave Latourette or Chris Hunt (who post here) handed his award at our State Tri Sprint last September.
He took an overdose of drugs this morning, and killed himself. No one has any idea why or what happened.
