John Stewart versus Elon Musk

Jon Stewart gave Musk the offer that he wanted. Musk has called Stewart “not partisan”. Musk… has called Stewart “not partisan”.

So let’s call me 1/2 here.

Glass is half full? Accomplishments are rise of tesla, spacex. Too off set brand destruction, he basically is president of USA

I think you meant not bipartisan?

Regardless, it sounds like Musk is backing out. So dumb enough to extend the offer yet smart enough to realize it was a bad idea.

Jon Stewart fought for 9/11 First Responders healthcare. Musk just needs to sit down and shut up. He goes out of his way to hurt, not help, people.

You do realize money is not the end all be all of being a decent human being. If you look at the list of billionaires, there are a lot of pieces of shit there and Musk is at the top of that list.

No he doesn’t. It’s the crowd for whom money is everything. the more money you have the more amazing you are.

If you know anything about Sythetic’s posting history… him defending a piece of shit billionaire is kind of weird.

It’s not weird, it’s on brand for maga.

Market loses 1%.
Under Biden: it’s Biden’s fault!
Under Trump: the market is correcting itself!

I read through all of the exchanges with synthesis and am reminded that nonsensical ranting is just the human version of what my dog does when things don’t feel right to her.

Musk: I’ll go on Jon Stewart’s show if it’s unedited.
Stewart: Cool. We’ll do it unedited.
Musk: Never mind, I won’t. You’re a partisan propagandist.
Stewart: Nice hat, Elon.

Synthesis: Rawrrr!!! Elon makes MORE money!!! Grrrrrr!!!

I was actually thinking that as I was typing. He’s always talking about being broke and the jobs he gets suck, but he can live on next to nothing, blah, blah, blah. Then he constantly defends the billionaire business owners he bitches about.

I don’t imagine the administration is able to exercise any significant control over what Elon Musk decides to do.

Yup. The Treasury secretary says the economy is “brittle underneath”, whatever that means.

you may have things backwards there

Well its funny, before twitter take overall dems sided with musk, as the lord to take everyone to green technology salvation. People can change. Many people who purchased tesla products before, are now having their cars keyed, charging stations being tampered with, etc yet theyvdont side with his views

There’s a big difference between Musk as an entrepreneur and a leader in technology development and innovation, and viewing the Musk as a shadowy, conflicted, under investigation, screwball force of chaos embedded (without true legal authority) within our government, and blatantly using that power to enrich himself personally.

It’s not just about his politics.

This x100.

My wife’s best friend has known Elon very, very well for 15+ years. Lets just say she was top #x @ certain Pasadena space thing & SpaceX management are in the same ecosphere.

I very clearly remember, about 9 years ago when I was thinking of leaving CA for a career opportunity, over a few bottles of wine we were talking about other options (not that I was mid-life crisis, but definitely mid-career “is this what I want to do”), and she said “You could easily goto work for Elon, he will love you…for about 10 minutes and then your life will suck. He is brilliant, and simply weird.”

It is brittle underneath. He is probably referring to our debt load. But the only presidents to actually reduce it was Clinton and Obama wasn’t awful.
