John Cobb fitting

Does John Cobb still do actual fittings for every day peeps or is just his staff doing them. My wife needs a new fitting done, as could I with IM 2mo out to dial in position better. His stores are only a few hours away from me.

John is no longer in the Retail bike biz. He still actively does positionings. If you’d like to get in contact with him, please use jcobb@blackwellresearch.com. Good luck.

Thanks. Didn’t know he bailed on the retail stores.

Is John still in Tyler, or is he in Austin now with Blackwell? Thanks.

He’s living the dream in Tyler, TX!

If you are in Austin, TX see Dave Wenger (www.source-e.net) he is very well respected in TX for fits.

you could probably also go see Dave Bunce from Blackwell. I understand that guys knows a little bit about positioning too

crashing thread…Mr. Bunce, what psi do you recommend for your tubular disc and front (50) wheel set…just bought 'em and read some of the material on this forum. thanks, in advance.

Thanks for the support! You can run whatever the max tire psi suggests. There are many factors that can determine “best” tire pressure (weather, smooth course, rough course, technical, rider weight to name a few). But I like to run mine at 160psi. That might sound like a ton to some, but I’ve ridden that pressure for 20 years. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks. hahaha Enjoy your wheels and good luck with the racing!!

I drove more than 1,000 miles (and then back) to get my son fitted by JC and I can say that it was worth driving every mile to his place.

John did a great job getting him perfectly positioned on both his TT and road bikes but I also found out that there is more to bike fitting than measuring angles and moving things back and forth. It had never occurred to me for example that Sergio needed a good amount of fitting on his shoes also.

I am glad I took the decision to drive all the way from Mazatlan to Tyler.

Best wishes,

Sergio

Thanks, fortunately I only have to drive about 1 1/2hrs. Do you recall what his fitting fees where? I will more than likely get like 3 bikes done and then my wife and her bike fit. Should be a nice chunk of change I’m sure.
